This series of large- format light-weight booklets was designed by Counted Thread Press primarily for those who love to embroider. They will lie flat while you are using them and are easy to see.
Each one has an introduction by Mary Kelly which places the goddess images in the context of the country where they are found.
Then, at least 10 large format charts of traditional images are presented, along with several paragraphs of detailed explanations of what the original piece looked like, what materials and colors were used and where it currently is housed. Where appropriate, color charts further define the emborideries. Ritual uses of the piece are also recorded.
Each booklet comes complete with a map of the region and a bibliography for further reading.
